Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The International Awareness and Involvement (IAI) Committee develops dialogue and implements global initiatives that support issues affecting women and children around the world.  IAI’s goal is to raise both the level of awareness and involvement of the needs of the global community and African Diaspora.   

Previous Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter endeavors that support our International Awareness and Involvement Thrust include:

• The Sierra Leone Project: Monetary donations were collected for school supplies to be sent to Africa.
• Loving Hearts Foundation – Monetary donations were collected for the Jireh School in Uganda for installation of a new school roof.
• I Can Fly International- Monetary donations were submitted directly to the I Can Fly Farwest Campaign for women and children in Kenya who live in extreme poverty.
