President’s Welcome!
Greetings and Welcome,
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college-educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Elegant Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter and the local communities that we serve!
Our Chapter was chartered on December 11, 2004 by 24 women committed to serving the communities of Elk Grove, South Sacramento, West Sacramento, Natomas, and Yolo County.
By the end of 2024 we will have provided 20 years of accomplished service by building upon our organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
-
Economic Development
-
Educational Development
-
International Awareness and Involvement
-
Physical and Mental Health
-
Political Awareness and Involvement
The educational development of our local youth is a major focus for the chapter and we have received awards for our Delta GEMS and African American Achieves (youth initiatives) programs for girls, ages 13 to 18. In addition we have established prestigious annual scholarships (Carolyn N. Watts Scholarship, Theresa A. Pradia HBCU Scholarship, and Jacquelyn M. & Jimmie Ward African American Nursing Scholarship) for graduating high school seniors and current college students who reside or graduated from the greater Sacramento Region. All of our scholarship applications open in January of every year. You can also support and contribute to our scholarship fund by making a donation to our chapter by visiting HERE.
As we celebrate 20 years of committed service, we invite you to join us for our 2024 New Year’s Eve Gala. We appreciate the abundance of support we have received over the years and we look forward to continuing our legacy of service to our local communities!
In Community,
Dr. Rosalyn Earl-Clark
President, Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
